BUSINESS PHRASAL VERBS IV Eng/Cat

Publicat el 15 de maig de 2014 per ealonso
keep on commenting some Business Phrasal :

Proseguint amb el Business phrasal verbs avui parlarem de:

TO LOOK INTO AND TO PULL OUT

1.- To look into:
Could you please look into the possibility of relocating our business to China?

To look into something means to analyse it, to collect more information and facts about it.
Si posem l’ atenció en la direcció de la partícula, tenim que “the Arrow” va de fora cap a dins ( de l’ exterior  a l’interior + mirar))

Staring at particle direction, we find that “The Arrow” goes from outside to inside

2.- To pull out  of something:
The company has decided to pull out of the agreement.

To pull out of something (usually an activity or agreement) means to decide not to continue it.
Seguint la trajectòria de la fletxa, veiem que aquesta va de l’ interior de l’ acord cap al’ exterior. ( de dins a fora + estirar)

If we follow the Arrow Way, we’ll see that it goes from  inside to outside

10 BUSINESS PHRASAL VERBS. III Eng/Cat

Publicat el 14 de maig de 2014 per ealonso
Keep on talking about 10 Business Phrasal verbs today we are studying the following verbs.
Continuant  amb el comentari dels 10 Business Phrasal Verbs, avui estudiarem els verbs següents:

TO HEAR BACK FROM someone AND TO COME UP

1.- To hear back from :
Here “The Arrow” takes something to the point where message comes from.

Aquí “The Arrow” porta, al punt on s’ha originat el missatge, feedback / resposta sobre alguna cosa

I haven’t heard back fron the client yet

2.- to come up:
appear, happen unexpectedly
presentar-se,  sorgir d´improvís,

I’m sorry but I can’t attend the meeting tomorrow, something has come up.

UP is the upward arrow that goes up.  Maybe it means something comes in an approching direction

Up és la fletxa vertical que puja cap amunt, però amb el verb to come  no s’observa aquesta direcció a primera vista. To come vol dir venir i Up “venir en forma vertical” ? Algú ve i està davant nostre dempeus.,
Quina és la vostra opinió?

BUSINESS PHRASAL VERBS II Eng/Cat

Publicat el 12 de maig de 2014 per ealonso
deeping into the use of 10 Business Phrasal Verbs , we talked about in the last post, today we are analysing the following verbs

Aprofundint amb el comentari dels 10  Business Phrasal Verbs citats en el darrer apunt, avui estudiarem dos verbs:

TO CALL OFF AND TO PUT OFF
1.- To call off:
First of all, we imagine an arrow taking off a surface (real or imagined) towards  an exterior and going down direction. Also, we have on/off opposition. There is a meeting that comes off the agenda
Primer de tot, imaginem la fletxa (arrow) despegant d´una

superfície ( real o imaginada) cap a una  direcció  exterior i descendent. També

tenim l’ oposició on/off. Hi ha una reunió convocada (on) que surt afora de l’

agenda.

I am afraid we’ll  have to call off tomorrow’s meeting.

2.- To put off:

Here as in first verb commented above, we use the arrow of our imagination to send the arrow. We put the meeting off on a given day and then we put it on another date

Aquí igual que en el punt núm. 1 fem servir l’ arc de la nostra

imaginació per enviar la fletxa (arrow). Put vol dir posar i off fora.: ajornar la reunió.

She decided to put off the meeting to next week.
