Repensar Manhattan (Nova York)
Deixa un comentari-Però no cal que es faça per urbanistes especialitzats. Prenc la notícia del concurs del bloc d’en John Hills. Un bloc de referència arquitectònica pràcticament d’abast internacional.
-Fins ara Cityvision havia promogut tres concursos: Roma, Venècia i una edició especial dedicada a l’arquitectura inflable.
-I aquesta n’és la quarta experiència, on s’aborda la problemàtica del cor d’una megaciutat. En aquest concurs pot participar qualsevol creatiu. N’és una competició oberta, sense traves a primera vista, on poder desenvolupar qualsevol idea que et coga al cap.
-La idea pivota sobre les petites intervencions on trobem els ‘grans tresors’ de la ‘ciutat amagada’. Com aquestes dels vídeos que vos dese ací baix.
-Crec que aquestes competicions serveixen per a replantejar-nos com volem habitar l’urbs. I serveixen d’aplicació arreu, partint de contextos heterogenis dels participants al del lloc particular on s’enquadra amb l’afegit de motivar una proposta urbana “per contrast”.

“CityVision Architecture Competition is an annual competition held by the homonymous magazine of architecture CityVision Magazine that invites architects, designers, students, artists and creatives to develop urban and visionary proposals with the aim of stimulating new ideas for the contemporary city. … New York CityVision is the fourth international ideas competition launched by CityVision. The competition wants you to imagine New York in its future if the manipulation of the urban context and its architectural objects, joined with its inhabitants, will be influenced by SPACE and TIME. The New York ideas will be judged by an international jury which will have as president Joshua Prince-Ramus, founder of the office REX and again Eva Franch i Gilabert, Roland Snooks, Shohei Shigematsu, Alessandro Orsini and Mitchell Joachim, all of whom are distingueshed [sic] by the large experimentation willingness in their work.”
