I think that the election of Obama is a serious setback for the anti-americans. Against the odds "a black" will command the 1st world power, branded as racist, and so on by the anti-American and especially the European ones. Of course, prejudices are not easy to destroy even with the light of the facts and evidences, because as well as the larger is the light, the pupil of the fanatical gets narrow and narrow. It is curious that so many people from so many people with serious problems at home, often under tyrants as rulers, lost time on the anti-Americanism rather before sweeping the own house. But this is a safety valve, in the style of anti-Semitism: "America is always wrong and is to blame for every trouble around the world"... this axiom might be unchangeble for AntiAmericanists. The difference is that Jews were down and USA are top and you can not organise any progroms against. An example of what I say is some "antiAmerican" Italians, who have a poseur dictator ruling Italy through a media-judicial Dictatorship (as it controls virtually all the major Italian media) and spend their time in far "ennemies". I guess it's more confortable than challenging a dictator.
It doesn't mind that thanks to the Allies were defeated Fascism. In just revenge even now mayor of a new fascist government in Rome. Sometimes there are Leftists that hate more Democracy than Fascism. "Few people can be happy if they do not hate other people, or nation or creed" (Bertrand Russell, British philosopher).
