I tot s’avingué als propòsits d’aquell músic que recorria carrers sense lluna; tot resplendia amb una claror que sorgia d’horitzons proscrits que ja no vestien els quatre fanals del Portal de la Pau. Ell es proposà de fer un recorregut que ja no es feia -com deia aquell poeta del port, “Ara no es fa, prò jo encara ho faria”- i tot fent-se sang als llavis repetia un cop i un altre la melodia de saxo fins que sabé què era el que ell volia… i ho va aconseguir; però no només de saber-ho, sinó també d’aconseguir-ho.
