Martyn Shrewsbury believes people in England and Wales should set their clocks to a different hour than Scotland.
He wants to see the annual October clock change of the clocks going back an hour, abandoned to allow lighter evenings.
The Swansea-based Green Party spokesman said, “An extra hour of daylight on winter evenings could save up to 138 lives on English and Welsh roads. Currently many people leave work and travel home in the dark. That makes it much harder for drivers to see them.”
But he believes the same move should not necessarily have to take place in Scotland.
