Ahir, 12 d’abril, els republicans ens hem reunit per celebrar anticipadament el 14 d’abril. I hem aprofitat aquest acte per homenatjar els companys que porten 25 anys al partit. Per exemple, en Joan Garcia Xuclà.
Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya és el partit degà del país. Té més de 77 anys d’història al servei de la causa de Catalunya i de la causa de la Llibertat que, com deia el President Companys, són la mateixa causa.
Avui, en el dinar de conmemoració del 77è aniversari de la proclamació de la República Catalana, el partit ha retut homenatge a una bona colla de companys que porten 25 militants. Voldria destacar-ne un, company de militància al Casal Català Martinenc, en Joan Garcia Xuclà.
En Joan és un heterodox, una persona que pensa per si mateixa i que gaudeix fent-ho i compartint-ho. En Joan és, abans que res, un republicà, que posa per davant la defensa de les llibertats personals, socials i nacionals. En Joan sempre ha defensat la biodiversitat del partit, el seu pluralisme, el respecte a totes les veus i matisos, i ho ha fet des del compromís concret, amb persones i projectes.
Em sento orgullós de compartir militància amb companys i companyes, com ell, capaços d’aguantar les dificultats del compromís polític (amb les seves grandeses i, també, amb les seves misèries) durant tants anys. Em sento orgullós de gent, com ell, que pensen que ERC és un partit capaç “d’aguantar-nos” durant 25 anys, i durant els que faci falta.
Companys com ell, com el Miquel o el Francesc i la Marga, porten un testimoni que vé de la història i es projecta al futur. Un testimoni que encara l’aixequen amb orgull i que els que venim darrera (en el temps) i caminem al seu costat, portarem també, amb el mateix orgull. Un testimoni que seguirem aixecant i passant, fins a que aconseguim fer efectiu el somni republicà, la Llibertat, la Igualtat i la Fraternitat, per a tots els homes i dones, per a tots els pobles.
