Aquests darrers dies els telenotícies no paren de donar desgràcies arreu del món i així els aiguats i inundacions d’Andalusia, el terratemol de Xile s’han afegit al que va passar fa un temps a Haití.
Davant aquestes fets son moltes les persones anònimes que es mobilitzen per poder fer la seva aportació per tal de poder ajudar, be sigui per mig de donació econòmica individual o col·lectiva, com a voluntari d’ONG…, Peró quant les persones son públiques i conegudes tenen un gran ressó mediàtic…
Enguany ha fet 25 anys que un grup d’artistes encapçalats per Harry Belafonte, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, y Lionel Richie va crear USA for Africa (Unión de Apoyo de Artistas para Africa).
Es van reunir per a grabar un 28 de gener de 1985, d’això ha fet 25 anys, el single “We Are the World” junt amb 45 artistes més. L’objectiu era recollir diners per a mitigar la fam d’Àfrica.
La canço va ser assolir ben aviat el primer lloc de les llistes de la època i no ha perdut res amb el pas dels anys. Us deixem tot seguit el vídeo oficial.
Doncs 25 anys desprès “We are the world” torna a sonar amb cares i veus noves. Torna per a recollir diners per Haití. Son un total de 70 artistes, dels que només un dels 45 que van cantar-la l’any 1985 repeteix, i ho fa gràcies a la tecnologia ….
Una part de la canço s’ha actualitzat i la presentació oficial es va fer el passat 12 de febrer de 2010 durant la cobertura de la NBC dels Jocs Olímpics d’Hivernde Vancouver.
