Avui el Parlament Europeu hem adoptat una resolució sobre l’última reforma constitucional presentada a Hongria. Els Verds/ALE hem estat dels grups impulsors i negociadors, i hem aconseguit un text conjunt amb S&D, ALDE i GUE que ha estat aprovat per la majoria del Parlament Europeu.

Celebro que aquesta resolució conjunta hagi estat acceptada. Això és un missatge clar per al primer ministre Orbán, qui finalment haurà de canviar les seves polítiques. La resolució aprovada no demana la suspensió directa del dret a vot d’Hongria en el Consell (tot i que els Verds/ALE ho reclamávem), però sí demana que la Comissió esclareixi quins son els drets fonamentals de la UE que Hongria està violant amb la seva nova Constitució.

Les lleis hongareses son contradictòries amb els valors fonamentals de la UE i hem de ser intransigents amb això. El Parlament Europeu ha donat un senyal clar.

El procediment de l’article 7.1 del Tractat de la Unió Europea permetria obrir un procés clar i just per esclarir punts com: la independència del poder judicial, la independència de l’autoritat de protecció de dades, les condiciones per la justa competència i el pluralisme polític, la denominada “llei d’estabilitat”  que sotmet un règim d’impostos sobre la renta a una majoria de dos terços i a les lleis que concedeixen a la majoria política el dret de nombrar funcionaris per un període inusualment llarg, cosa que afectarà a governs futurs.
