Una empresa anglesa que es dedica a
comercialitzar drets d’imatge de portades antigues de diari, ho veureu en la sèrie de mails de sota, nega a Sàpiens una reproducció “perquè els espanyols no paguen i
no venem a empreses espanyoles”. La Sònia Casas, un dels motors de Sàpiens, li
explica que som una empresa gran, que paguem sempre i que, a més, no som
espanyols… I res a fer, l’Andrew ha decidit que els espanyols no paguen i que
nosaltres som espanyols…

Dear Sonia,
I’m sorry to disappoint you but there have been too many occasions of non
payment and legal complications, that we’ve decided not to take any more
requests from Spain.
Once again, sorry.
Regards,
Andrew

Dear Andrew,
We are quite astonished with your email. We are not only one of the main
publications companies in Barcelona (we are the publishers of Time Out
Barcelona magazine and Lonely Planet Magazine, just to give you two
examples) but we are also a very serious company… I know it?s your
decision and I respect it, of course, but I?m sure you?ll agree with me
that it?s quite sad this generalization concerning Spanish companies…
By the way, we are not a Spanish company but a Catalan one, if that can
helps….
Regards,
Sònia

Dear Sonia,
Thankyou for your e-mail.
Regretfully we cannot send any material to Spain. There have been a
number of issues in the past with other publications concerning payments.
Sorry that we can’t help you with your request.

Andrew

Hi Andrew, how are you?
I?m Sonia, from the History magazine in Barcelona. I called you
some weeks ago concerning your newspapers archives. Hope you
remember.
This month we are searching for a cover of the Chernobyl desaster.
The explosion was in April 26th 1986 but it was only on the news
three or four days later (onApril 29th and 30th). We would be
pleased if you had a Russian newspapers or if not a German or
Scandinavian one, as they were countries deeply affected.
If you only have British newspapers, we would be also interested
depending on the cover.
Thanks in advance!
Keep in touch,
Sònia
