A circus is commonly a travelling company of performers that may include clowns, acrobats, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, hoopers, tightrope walkers, jugglers, unicyclists and other stunt-oriented artists. The word also describes the performance that they give, which is usually a series of acts choreographed to music and introduced by a ringmaster.

Hansel Cereza, fundador de la Fura dels Baus, dirigirà un circ per la Mercè
El director Hansel Cereza, membre fundador de la Fura dels Baus, dirigirà un espectacle de circ en el marc de les festes de la Mercè de Barcelona, que se celebraran el pròxim mes de setembre a la carpa que el Circo Italiano instal·larà pels voltants del castell de Montjuïc. La responsable de Festes de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona, Marta Almirall, es va desplaçar fa uns mesos a Sant Petersburg (Rússia) per a la contractació d’alguns dels artistes que participaran a les funcions. En el món del circ, Cereza va col·laborar a l’espectacle Love,de Cirque du Soleil.
