Gay, Cerdà i Recha a Toronto

Cesc Gay, Marc Recha i Nacho Cerdà participaran, del 7 al 16 de setembre, en seccions diverses de la 31 edició del Festival de Cinema de Toronto, la programació del qual s’acaba de fer pública i que, a continuació, reprodueixo parcialment:

  1. D’en Recha no cal que digui les ganes que en tinc de veure’n el seu últim treball, ja que els que em coneixeu sabeu de sobres que en sóc un seguidor incondicional. D’en Gay no n’espero res amb especial deler, tot i que em desperta la curiositat veure què ha fet després de “En la ciudad”. En Cerdâ el vaig descobrir, fa anys, gràcies a un curtmetratge merabellós anomenat “Génesis” -que projectaven als Icària abans d’algunes pel·lícules- però no sé massa què esperar-ne de la seva pel·lícula “The Abandoned”; ja he vist masses curtmetratgistes “catalans” estimbar-se en el seu salt al llarg com per tenir alguna espectativa positiva al respecte.

    De la resta de pel·lícules que es veuran a Toronto, em crida l’atenció el debut en la direcció de Sarah Polley; la nova pel·lícula de Kenneth Branagh (aquesta vegada “contra” Mozart?); “Little Children”, del director de “En la habitación”; el retorn de Paul Verhoeven al cinema holandès; les noves pel·lícules asiàtiques de Hirokazu Kore-eda, Apichatpong Weerasethakul i Kim Ki-duk; les polèmiques “cannoises” d’en Bruno Dumont i en Pedro Costa; i, per suposat, les obres “en gira” d’Amelio, Bilge Ceylan, González Iñárritu, Joon-ho, Kaurismäki, Loach, Moretti…

    Ara bé, la que em fa més por que una pedregada és “Belle toujours”, de l’admirat Manoel de Oliveira; Que Catherine Deneuve no hagi volgut repetir el paper de burgesa reprimida de “Belle de jour” em fa mala espina. Ah, i el títol de “I Don’t Want to Sleep Alone” (No vull dormir sol), sembla una broma; si en un concurs em preguntéssin qui ha dirigit una pel·lícula anomenada de tal manera, diria, sense ni pensar-mo: “Tsai Ming-Liang!”. I m’enportaria el premi. Llàstima que a la tele, avui en dia, només s’hi vagi a esplicar misèries.
