La setmana passada vaig ser a Vilafranca, convidat per Amnistia Internacional Penedès, per parlar sobre la UE i els Drets Humans. Avui, a la Delegació UE-Magreb, afrontem el tema de l'acord de Pesca, i abans, a la Comissió Droit, haurem recordat la situació dels centres de detenció il.legal de la CIA a la UE. Cada dijous per la tarda, durant els plens d'Estrasburg, debatem i votem tres resolucions sobre la situació dels Drets Humans i la democràcia al món.
La UE sembla haber renunciat fa temps a convertir-se en l'abanderada mundial i indiscutible de la defensa dels Drets Humans al món. I això em dol, i em preocupa. Aquesta és també la conclusió del darrer informe anual de Human Rights Watch que, en la seva nota de presentació, comença així:
