Avui fa vint-i-cinc anys que va morir Salvador Espriu. La sort que tenen els bons poetes és que quan callen la seva obra continua parlant. I encara més quan algú decideix posar-hi música i elevar la poesia a la categoria de cançó. Espriu va tenir el goig de poder veure en vida com els seus versos eren musicats i escampats als quatre vents per algunes de les veus més potents de la cançó catalana. Són ben conegudes les Cançons de la roda del temps (1966) i altres textos musicats per Raimon. Però a banda del cantant de Xàtiva, hi ha més músics i cantants que s’han apropat a l’obra d’Espriu, ja sigui abans o després de la mort del poeta. És el cas, entre d’altres, de Maria del Mar Bonet, Ovidi Montllor, Ramon Muntaner, Celdoni Fonoll, Marina Rosell, Dolors Laffitte, Xavier Ribalta o, més recentment, de Túrnez i Sesé o La Locomotora Negra. Podria il·lustrar-ho amb molts exemples, però ho faré amb el poema ‘Perquè un dia torni la cançó a Sinera’ (Les hores, 1952), un text que, al meu entendre, resumeix la voluntat d’Espriu a l’hora de bastir la seva obra. És una mena de testament literari avançat que es manifesta amb força lamentativa en versos com “Ningú no ha comprès / el que jo volia / que de mi es salvés”. I he triat l’excel·lent interpretació que en va fer Ramon Muntaner en el disc Cançó de carrer, publicat el 1975 (molts any abans de passar a dirigir la secció mediterrània de l’SGAE i deixar la cançó catalana orfe d’una de les seves veus més singulars). I és que, parafrasejant Espriu, perquè un dia torni la cançó a Sinera cal reviure una vegada i una altra els nostres poetes, així com la veu d’aquells que els han popularitzat.
