De vegades escriure un article proporciona sorpreses molt agradables. Mai no saps quan els escrius quin crearà una resposta en forma de correus dels lectors i quin no. I encara menys quin crearà polèmiques apassionants. I eixa és la gràcia.
M'ha passat ara amb el mail obert de divendres passat sobre els moriscos. Un tema, en principi, allunyat de l'actualitat que, en canvi, ha generat una gran quantitat de respostes. Respostes ben diverses, per cert. Una lectora nord-americana, gran coneixedora del català, em comparava en el seu text el nostre debat sobre els moriscos amb el seu sobre els afro-americans, una perspectiva realment interessant salvant les distàncies òbvies. I un lector em feia la reflexió sobre com és que no aplicàvem la mateixa visió als hispano-romans, que van patir la conquesta morisca. Això ens ha dut a embrancar-nos en un debat interessant sobre aquells vells pobladors de la península que ningú no sap si van ser assimilats o aniquilats. Cap de setmana animat, doncs, gràcies a la curiositat dels lectors.
