Whose criteria?

Reputation? -In fact, Obama will always be more famous than Jordi Pujol (I do not admire either) and this is not merit.
Occupation? -As the Greeks argued praxis is opposed to theory (so, go on).
Quotations? -Chomsky gets more attention on Google than Bakunin or Diogenes the Cynic (so...).
Average number of students per professor? It is just a matter of surplus is it not? Crowded courses should pay for the rest, or at least, in my opinion, it should be so.
Internationalization? - Is that the number of languages and cultures covered by the university or the fact that well-to-do people come to you and use your language and go about with your own "cultural patterns"?

It is quite a good business for English speaking countries to speak English, :)

PS: In any case, are European universities (French and German) so bad or is it that they do not use English enough?
